RelaxiCon 2025 LARP Descriptions

Rehearsal Dinner 

Friday Night 8pm-11pm |  LARP with custom system 

 

It was going to be the perfect wedding, but at the rehearsal dinner when both families finally meet, a string of unfortunate coincidences and old flames igniting bring chaos and comedy into the night's events. 

 

A game of secrets but no powers, over the top drama and passion in the spirit of telenovela .

 

A light hearted melodramatic LARP filled with over-the-top drama and comedic circumstances. Bad decisions and questionable morals abound as the choices of those attending come to light in a carefree soap opera farce. 

 

Content Warning: Adult themes, Infidelity, promiscuity, mob dealings, pregnancy, infertility, moral ambiguity, sex work, questions of lineage.

First Contact 

Saturday Afternoon 3-7pm  | LARP with a custom system

 

The earth is as we know it today…more or less.  There’s no war but the tensions are high and there’s a great deal of competition between countries. 

 

You will play a crewmember on one of two alien spacecraft coming into the solar system towards earth for First Contact, OR a representative of up to 10 earth-based countries/organizations (i.e SETI, UN, US, Russia, China, EU, etc).  As you might expect, your considerations are detection, communication, economic, scientific, military, etc.  You’ll have the full range of responses to the aliens or other countries based on your interpretation of your best interest or humanities best interest.

 

This game is a series of discussions with 5-10 minute time slots and 1 hour periods. How you deal or discuss with each other is your choice.  There is an option of starting a nuclear war.  And, other wars might get started, but not concluded before the aliens arrive in orbit. The situation will change as the crafts approach earth Orbit and as the earth-based countries deal with each other. Of course, the aliens have their own agendas and how they play those is up to them.

 

Considerations include what constitutes winning in this scenario?  Can competitors find common ground?  Will there even be a Human race when the aliens arrive?

 

Materials will be handed out at the start of the game based on first come sign ups.

Force Multiplier 

Saturday Afternoon 3pm-7pm |  LARP with custom system

Six of the very few remaining Force users have converged at a strange, ancient Temple that calls out with a powerful concentration of the Force. It is 41 ABY, and the Galaxy is in turmoil. It’s been six years since Emperor Palpatine was finally destroyed in the Battle of Exegol, along with all of the Sith. The Jedi are long dead, the result of the treacherous and devastating Order 66. The New Republic is struggling to rebuild in the Core. The Rim is fragmented and broken into thousands of small political groups, each fighting for power and advantage.

This forgotten Temple, located on a lonely, unknown world named Andama, sits far out in the Rim, well beyond any of the usual trade routes and colonies. Six determined beings, with six different agendas, and very different views of the Force, have entered, only to discover there’s no way out…

​

Force Multiplier does not require extensive knowledge of the Star Wars canon. If you know just a little about the Force, the Jedi, the Sith, and lightsabers, you can play this LARP!

​

Content Warnings: There is medical experimentation, murder, torture, and genocide in the backstory. There are threats to loved ones, including children. Some form of abusive relationship is almost inevitable in master/student pairings, regardless of whether they are Sith or Jedi. There is drug abuse and alcoholism in the back story, but none of the characters are addicts or alcoholics.

The Man in the Tower Prologue:

"The Hounds Unleashed" 

Sat Night 8-Midnight  |  Parlour LARP with a custom system

​Note: This is the *sequel* to the LARP run at RelaxiCon 2024. 

​

The year is 20XX, and the future is now. Three ingenious inventors have plugged in the city to technology that far surpasses that of any other power in the world. In this society the city is truly a shining beacon on a hill ruled over by those that control the Tower.

 

The nights have become restless. The city thought it could resist. It was wrong. The Tower has declared war on dissent, and its elite enforcers—the Hounds—have been unleashed to crush rebellion, root out traitors, and bring order by any means necessary. Surveillance is everywhere, curfews are enforced at gunpoint, and The Network whispers promises of escape to those desperate enough to believe.

 

You are the Tower’s Will, the enforcers of its law. The city has shown that it will not roll over quietly—will you bring it to heel?

 

Inspirations: 2001: A Space Odyssey, Bladerunner, The Matrix, Battlestar Galactica, Ready Player One, Tron, Westworld, V for Vendetta.

 

20 players, All Ages but PG-13 for Violence and Language.
