FAQ

What is the casting/character schedule leading up to the game?

First Round Registration will run through end of May/early June, and the behind-the-scenes casting process will take part later in June.

In early-to-mid July all players should receive Character Blurbs, which give you enough information to know what source material your character is from so you can plan costuming.

Full characters will come out in mid-to-late August.  Other information such as Background and Rules will come out throughout August, and some of this may only be released just before or at the game.

What is the schedule during the weekend for the LARP?

The In-Game Schedule will be out with other materials later this summer, but our Labor Day LARPs run over Friday night/Saturday/Sunday with the following schedule:

  • Friday night 7 pm-Midnight

  • Saturday 11 am-Midnight, with a break for lunch and dinner

  • Sunday 11 am - approx. 3pm*, Wrap/Clean-Up

*Note that once the game wraps and we complete load-out/clean-up, the GMs/Council are **OFFLINE**, but many folks tend to stay and hang out/do unofficial gaming on Sunday!

What about food, snacks, and alcohol?

Your registration fee will include provision of a limited range of snacks and seltzer/soft drinks.  There will also be water provided in the Ballroom and Double Room.  You may want to bring your own distinguishable re-useable plastic/metal cup to use throughout the weekend.  You are also welcome to bring any beverages you prefer, to keep in your hotel room.  Stay hydrated!

There is a strict NO GLASS CONTAINERS rule throughout the event space, so no glass bottles or cups (etc) are permitted.

There will be a 1-hour Lunch Break and 2-hour Dinner Break on Saturday, for you to take breaks to go get food or have it delivered to the hotel. Please be kind to our front desk staff and keep track of your delivery!

Attendees aged 21 and over may bring their own alcohol into the event space, as long as we are subtle and folks imbibe responsibly.  Please review our Policy Regarding Alcohol for the full list of rules.

What about prop weapons?

Any and all prop guns should be visibly fake, from at least 10 feet away, and inactive.  This means we are encouraging those shiny neon nerf gun colors, or at the very least, a colorful "tip".  This further means there should be absolutely no ammunition, even nerf-style foam bullets, and no gun sounds or fake smoke should be in use. All swords/knives must be kept sheathed, though prop rapiers may be used if the tips are capped and they are worn ornamentally.

At no times should weapons be brandished in public areas (this includes the breakfast room, the foyer, hallways, lobbies, elevators, etc.) or touch another player.  (We have an insurance policy that designates these things, so please be thoughtful!) In short: Weapons should be carried solely for the purpose of making your costume look cool.

If you aren't certain whether your weapon prop will be allowed, please email a photo to thewilmarkdynasty at gmail dot com for approval.
